Bookkeeper / Junior Accountant

You will be responsible for day-to-day bookkeeping, invoicing, and accounting operations for our SaaS business. This role is ideal for someone who has worked in a startup before, understands the basics of SaaS accounting, and is eager to grow with the business.

- Maintain accurate and up-to-date books of accounts - Perform daily, weekly, and monthly bookkeeping activities - Manage invoicing, billing, and accounts receivable - Track expenses, payments, and bank reconciliations - Work extensively on Xero for bookkeeping and invoicing - (prior experience with Xero is preferred; willingness to learn is mandatory) - Assist in monthly closing, financial reports, and reconciliations - Coordinate with internal teams and external accountants/auditors - Maintain proper documentation and financial records - Support compliance requirements across multiple geographies (as needed)

- 1+ year of experience as a Junior Accountant or Bookkeeper - Hands-on experience with accounting software such as: A. Xero (preferred) B. MYOB C. Tally - Strong understanding of: A. Basic accounting principles B. General ledger, AR/AP C. Regular bookkeeping processes - Prior experience working in a startup or fast-paced environment - Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) - Comfortable working remotely and managing tasks independently What Else Should You Know / Nice to Have: - Understanding of SaaS business models, including: A. Subscription billing B. Monthly/Annual recurring revenue (MRR/ARR) - Familiarity with: A. Multi-currency transactions B. Cross-border invoicing and payments - Basic knowledge of GST/VAT concepts (NZ, AU, or other regions is a plus) -Ability to work with: A. Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets) B. Slack / Notion / project management tools - Strong attention to detail and high ownership mindset - Willingness to learn new tools, processes, and technologies - Comfortable working in a dynamic, evolving environment where processes are built and improved continuously
